Yellow to orangish brown, the colour tends to darken with age. Movingui wood frequently exhibits figured grain patterns such as mottle or ripple. Sapwood colour distinct from heartwood colour. Movingui is frequently referred to as Satinwood. Textured fine grain, often interlocked, sometimes wavy; lustrous; some logs produce a decorative figure; may contain up to 1.3% silica; contains a yellow extractive that may stain fabrics if moistened. Its yellow colour can be quite vibrant, while it can also have a highly pronounced mottle figure, making it a favourite for veneering and applications used for accents.
African Mahogany is pink when freshly cut, darkening to a reddish-brown colour with pale golden-brown zones on exposure. The sapwood is yellowish-brown in colour and is up to 2 in. (51 mm) in width, and it is not always distinctly demarcated from the heartwood. The grain is sometimes straight, but generally interlocked, giving a characteristic stripe figure in quarter sawn stock. The texture is medium to coarse, but even. It has no distinct taste or odour. The planed surface is lustrous. Growth rings are fairly distinct to the naked eye due to the presence of terminal parenchyma.
German Beech Wood is the most important European Hardwood. It is 100% natural. The colour is light cream with darker heartwood, something between maple and ash. The grain is short, mostly straight, with a fine, even texture. Beechwood imparts a definite warmth to the environment and has the ability to make the interior look more spacious.
The sapwood of walnut is creamy white, while the heartwood is light brown to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with a purplish cast and darker streaks. Walnut is usually supplied steamed, which darkens the sapwood, but a very unique look can also be achieved by leaving it natural. The wood is generally straight-grained, but sometimes with a wavy or curly grain that produces an attractive and decorative figure. The dark heartwood will lighten in colour as it ages over time with exposure to UV light.
French Beech Wood has been quite a staple in the lumber industry in the European market and is commonly used in a variety of products like furniture, stairs, flooring, cabinetry, veneer, interior furnishings, etc. This hardwood is commonly described as “versatile” owing to the fact that its lumber has a variety of uses. It also works very smoothly and is able to glue and finish really well.
It grows in Bosnia, and the weight of the beech is 0.72 g / cm3. The share pore is approximately 54%. A heavy, strong, and hardwood with excellent bending properties, the GENENA Bosnian beechwood has great elasticity and is resistant to tension, bending, and stroke. It has one of the highest shrinkage rates of hardwoods with a tendency to split and wart. The beechwood is light reddish-brown in colour and has a fine texture. It has excellent finishing properties.
The most common type of beech species in Romania is the European beech (Fagus Sylvatica). These are large trees that can reach a height of 40 m and can live up to 300 years or more. It is usually white, pale cream or pale brown and is steamed to relieve drying stresses while also bringing out a pinkish-red colour. The wood is quite hard and has a fine and uniform texture. Beech has exceptional steam bending properties, even when there are knots and irregular grain. It can be bent to very small radii, which makes it particularly useful in the furniture industry.
